I love modeler/profiler technology, owned Line 6 stuff, tons of amp sims, own NDSP QC, and also own Tonex Pedal.
Sound with this kind of product is weirdly becoming less and less of a topic, as in today standards, products in 50 bucks range sound fenomenal. Product is no longer limiter of sound, only the user is.
That being said, here is the main problem of tonex. It really sounds great, controls on unit itself, even if somewhat oudated, are not complicated and quite in-depth, but software-hardware connection and imersion of creating tones is one of the worst Ive seen.
Selecting and auditioning profiles that go on the tonex in cumbersome, crashes a lot, just a mess. Compared to something like cortex control, or kemper/helix editors, its worlds apart.
Its realy a shame, as for its factor, the sound is among the best and with added effects, its now whole rig in relatively small pedal. Still, a great buy!
