Ich hatte auf meinem Cello von Beginn an die von Pirastro empfohlene "Student" Kombination: A & D Saite Passione, G & C Saite Chromocor.
Während ich die Passione auch heute noch schätze (mittlerweile is das dritte "Pärchen" drauf) war ich mit den Chromocors nach einiger Zeit nicht mehr so zufrieden.
Im Vergleich zu den Passiones klangen sie einfach zu stumpf.
Da mein Cellolehrer seit Jahr und Tag die Jargar Classic (kompletter Satz) spielt, und mir bei seinem Cello vor allem die beiden tiefen Saiten immer sehr gut gefallen haben, habe ich bei Thomann die Jargar G & C Saiten bestellt (wohl wissend, dass die auf meinem Cello eventuell auch gar nicht funktionieren könnten).
Und ich muss sagen, dass das ein echter Glücksgriff war: Die Jargars sprechen sehr leicht an, sind vergleichsweise laut und "schwingen" sehr frei (kein Vergleich zu den Chromocors).
Und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist bei Jargar sowieso herausragend.
