beautiful tight midrange / almost no low end
The most attractive feature of the Jensen C8R is its super tight midrange. That's literally the first thing that you'll notice. And then there is the musical, silky high end. Which sounds also really pleasant. Never harsh. The low end is tight and almost punchy. Alas there isn't much of a low end here. You can almost tell, ok its there. So what this is, its a very mids focused speaker. And as such you don't get much of a full range sound.
Thus this speaker on its own sounds small, fizzy and honky. If you were to pair this Jensen with one or two low end heavy speakers, i could imagine that would result in a really dynamic setup. So in short nay for 1x8. But could be really awesome for 2x8 or 4x8 mixed speaker setups.

turned my 5w valve amp into a pocket rocket!
I got this speaker to replace a Gretsch Electromatic 5w valve stock speaker, (this amp circuit was also released as a fender champion i think) as it is a larger speaker i knew i would have to increase the depth of my amp to accommadate it's size so if your doing something similar be sure you have the know how and an amp with controls to the rear.
Ran a few head to heads against the old speaker and this blew it out of the water stands up to my 15 watt head for jams ,loads of tone and breaks up nicely. this speaker won't disappoint for classic rock, pedals, tone hounds etc.
