Does the trick
I needed some vales to ressurect a vintage Marshall that had been sitting around for ages. These sound just fine. The bite and tone is great again, maybe not quite as fullfilling as the old Sovteks that were in it beforehand (when in thier prime at least anyway), but meanwhile I can easily eq the sound to preference.
Will probably change around the V1 with something else at some point, but it's great to have the old beast back in action.

Good standard remplacement tube
This is a good sturdy 12AX7/ECC83 short plated (preamp) tube with a good SNR and a decent gain.
Pricewise one could consider this an very good standard replacement tube.
They did seem/sound a bit 'sterile' or 'non charismatic' to me, but that has it's advantages too.
There are other, more fancy tubes (believe me, I've went through a myriad of old and new JJ/Tungsol/mazda/philips/mullard/telefunken/rca/EHX/...) but I would be quite happy to stick one of these in, if another fails/dies on me.
They are sturdy and very consistently build/sounding, like most new designed preamptubes.

JJ always perform but
I have bought a set of jj ecc83s to upgrade a new vox ac15c1, along with Sovtek el84 because thomann do not carry jj el 84.
I have received the tubes well ahead of time and well packaged. the tubes traveled well : ). I have put the all the 3 jj preamp and the 2 el84 power. the sound cam clear but very thin. after I did so many configuration of original tubes that came with the amp ( China) and the new ones, I have settled to have sovtek in the power tubes section and the JJ ecc83s in the v1 position and the v3 position and I had kept the Chinese made ecc83 in the v2 position. ( second tube from the left) if you are looking at the amp from the back.
this combination gave the amp a bit of warmth and along with the clarity.

Tube do influence on the sound
These tubes were delivered as a part of warranty for my amp. When i was waiting for them i tried Tung Sol. What i can say, they differ a lot. And which one is better is a question of your musical taste.
What is besides the taste is noise level. These are noiser.
For my taste these have more saturated clear sound.

Great for replacing tubes on any cheap tube amp.
Noise gone, Tone: instantly gets better, microphonic ? No sir!
Used many of them on a Marshall SV20 and a Bugera v22 for years ,never had one break down.
They are reasonably priced too. I dont care about vintage ,expensive tubes.

Does what it should
Put this in the Pre-amp stage of an old Fender Performer Hybrid. Was actually trying to get an improved sound at low gain, where the sound just edges into breaking up, with a little compression - for blues stuff. Worked quite well. Warm tone, with a fresher high end, without being too bell-like bright.

Ok
Thomann gave them to me as a replacement for some not functioning tubes that my new Tube15 was equipped. They do the job without noise.

Nice tubes for guitar preamp
Nice preamp tubes for a Fender HR Deluxe. They are not the best on the market. But surely best price quality ratio.

Good stuff
Built this tube into my 20 Watt Blackstar amp. Sounds amazing!
I'm sure there are better tubes, but for the prize you pay you get what you want.
Warm, good sound
