Loads of amp for your money.
Stub Mandrel 02.11.2021
This amp is a 10W bass amp with included PSU, it compares well with the Fly Bass which is a similar price, 3W and no PSU included.

It's an ideal bedroom blaster for places where too much volume might cause issues, very portable and able to keep up with acoustic guitar of a jam in the park etc. Not really giggable and maybe not enough power for busking except in a quiet spot with good acoustics, like a subway.

Build quality is typical Joyo, very solid, nice light-up logo and in cream it has a lovely retro feel. Other colours look contemporary, so a timeless design,

The sound is good for a 5" speaker but not outstanding. It handles a passive bass well without farting, haven't tried it with my active 5-string. The tone control is a bit like a Fender TBX, very subtle and to be honest sounds best left at 12 O'clock to me. The drive channel works well giving a decent rumble rather than a buzz.

Great little Bass combo amp/speaker!
8/10 Decent Armchair Bass Companion 28.10.2024
First of all, it's excellent for space saving and insanely lightweight. It also packs a decent little punch considering it's small size. Perfect piece of kit to jam along to some of your favourite tunes and practice the bass guitar in general. Headphones can be plugged in alongside your smartphone etc. as musical accompaniment or a bit of motivation. When you play the guitar at the same time as the music you are feeding it you can still set the tone and gain and volume to overpower the music volume to distinguish your own sound and also try to match whatever you are playing along to quite evenly. You could also run a beat or a metronome instead of music. Either way this is the perfect armchair bass companion. My only con isn't a big deal to me but may be a dealbreaker for some, there is a slight buzz/feedback that tends to develop but that could just be my device and/or guitar or my input jack cable from my guitar that causes this. Possibly with a more expensive guitar or cable this could be eradicated. I've heard it also works well with no buzz using batteries but I haven't personally tried it. 8/10

Get the Blackstar or a used 10W practice amp
hyzenthlay 12.04.2025
Whilst waiting for the amp to arrive, I had the chance to purchase a used Blackstar Fly 3 Mini Bass, the category leader among cheap, battery-powered bass amps. It is not a close copmarison. The Blackstar, despite being half the cubic volume and only 3W, delivers a wider, deeper range of sounds with less noise, reaching around the same loudness before distorting.
The Joyo is not a nice-sounding amp. The low volume output is usable, but twangy rather than deep. At high volumes it is messy and distorted. The tone control does nothing at all, but this is the least of its problems. What's most striking is that it doesn't even sound good with headphones, so it's not just the speaker to blame. The Joyo also produced a noticeable amount of buzzing noise. This is typical of cheap amps, but also not true of the Blackstar, which by the way sounds gorgeous through headphones.
In the Joyo's favour, it is still light and portable despite being larger. The drive channel is not obnoxious, but the gain must be kept under control for a reasonable sound.
I would recommend spending the extra money for the Blackstar. It will make you very happy. If you can't afford it, pick up a used 10W mains-powered practice amp, or a headphone amp like the Vox Amplug (for private practice), both of which will deliver a more satisfying tone. The only situation in which I would recommend the Joyo is outdoors in public, where battery power is a necessity and sheer loudness may be preferred over sound quality.
I hope in future Joyo can produce an improved version without the tone control, overdrive and fake tweeter, instead focused on producing a deep, clean sound rather than trying to claim '10W' of distortion.

Handy when no power is available
Dan_333 12.01.2022
I bought this amp to use with my bass ukulele when performing with a small band in the open air on a high street. There is a good amount of loudness and bass from this small unit. It's fairly lightweight and for 10W can hold its own. There is a gain and basic EQ/tone controls to shape your sound. I was playing with a keyboard, a cajon and a 20 person choir and could still be heard. When at maximum volume, I did notice a little feedback, but that would be expected. For this pricepoint, I don't think there are many better options as cheap as this.

Very satisfied
MaximilienM 15.02.2022
Unbelievably light and tiny, super easy to transport, yet it delivers a surprising amount of volume with a tone that's not completely horrible.

This thing will not make your bass sound better, but it will allow you to jam with an electric guitar (at reasonable volumes), and to enjoy your practice time. I would not change anything, outstanding product.

Nice little combo for bedroom slapping
Reginald Wooster 06.03.2023
This Portable Bass Amp is compact and lightweight. I think it looks bigger than it weighs.

It has a decent punch, the sound is surprisingly loud and clear.

I can fit it into my backpack, jump on the bike and be ready to have a cozy little jam session at my buddy's place.

Included AC adapter is an epic win.

Also, it's really cool to be able to practice after midnight thanks to headphones and AUX inputs. I really found myself still playing at 3 am.

Overall, the Joyo MA-10B Portable Bass Amp is a great option for bass players who need a compact, portable amp for practicing or jamming. Sure thing it is not powerful enough for larger gigs or performances, but no one states this. Just a cute practice combo.

The more I use it, the more I like it
howardjworf@aol.com 28.04.2023
Used as a low volume practice amp when I am learning new material. Sound, well it's not going to compete with your main rig, or even a 1x10 rehearsal amp. It does, however, provide sufficient amplification for what I need. If it is turned up too much then lower notes distort, and it's quite unhappy about low B.
The other main plus is that even using rechargeable batteries it runs for a long time. The gap between recharging batteries is long enough that I can never remember the last time I charged them. It comes with a mains adapter if you prefer that. So it is completely and reliably portable.
I sold my acoustic bass and use this and an electric bass when jamming with friends on acoustic guitars - it's just perfect for that (and this set up takes up less room than an acoustic bass too - added bonus).
IMO a perfect package that does exactly what it is supposed to do. And look at the price.

Practice easily, cheaply and conveniently
Shrik 03.12.2024
First of all, it's not a good bass amp. Will get out mids fine, but the bass frequencies aren't what your looking for, so don't wonder why your slap tone isn't right, for example. However - they are super small, cheap and convenient, so you can use them everywhere (can also be operated with batteries). It's very good for practicing a bit louder. Has volume, gain and tone knobs and an overdrive switch.

Big sound from a little box
Timbercules 27.01.2022
Bought for the kid's first foray into bass lessons. Did not expect the volume or clarity this thing provides. It is a little bright with a single coil, but as a first amp it doesn't really matter. The drive channel, headphone out and line in are great features, given the price. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a travel or even as a back up practice amp.

Unschlagbarer Preis
