I am rating this with only 1 star deliberately. I can’t understand all those positive comments about this reverb pedal. The sound is flat, plastic, and lo-fi in a negative way, and is similar to the cheapest Chinese pedals. It doesn’t breathe. There is no dynamic in the sound. The reverb becomes an internal part of the original signal instead of wrapping around it, which causes it to lose its breath. The reverb blends with the original tone, making it sound muddy.
There is also a significant volume drop in the dry signal after the “midnight” position of the knob. Turning the tone to “high” tries to help, but the high tones are harsh and far from even “good.” They hurt the ears badly. There are not many ways to set it up or use it effectively.
M-Vave Universe feels like high-end gear in comparison. Flamma is also much better than Joyo. I own over 50 reverb pedals (maybe more), and this is only the second time I have been so truly disappointed. Really.
