K&M 21431 Mini Boom Arm

I used this to replace the boom on a K&M 25993 for kick drum. With heavier or unbalanced mics like an RE20 I don't want the telescopic boom arm, as it tends to twist. However, I discovered that boom has a 5/8" hole and this one has 3/8". Luckily you can swap the parts from the middle clamp section with this one and they are all compatible. I also used the K&M Capstan Head to customise this stand to just what I want. K&M offer many useful spares and Thomann is the easiest and cheapest way to get them

I bought the mini boom so that I could suspend my Rhode mic over a music stand - easier for recording singers. It works fine but I had to hacksaw off one end to get the Counterweight to fit. The threaded silver parts are not removable and I found out (too late) from the Help desk that this product is not compatible with the Counterweight (even though the latter comes up as a 'related product' ..

Nice stand but be careful when ordering because the length dimensions don't take into account the 'hidden' part of the boom arm which goes into the hole of the clamp!
But overall a great quality product!
