Lewitt LCT 840

To start off, this mic is really wonderful! It is so smooth and warm on vocals, incredibly detailed and realistic. Had a beautiful result on trumpet, guitar amp and since i now have two of these it is also my favorite on overheads! Again, realistic, smooth, detailed, no harshness, perfect taming of transients, beautiful drum sound.
Now for the less lovey dovey part: i am not a big fan of the shockmount as i would have liked to be able to rotate the mic inside of the shockmount. Also one of the two shockmounts i have needs to be tightened very securely for it not to move in case i place the microphone not perfectly vertical. Also the connectors on the multipin cable of the last mic i ordered shows some pitting on the finish. Which is not a problem, just that it looks like a 50 year old connector.
Also, in between ordering the two LCT840’s i own now i had ordered another one which i had to send back because the multipin connector on the PSU was broken upon arrival and the cable would get stuck (thanks to Thomann for effortless customer support).
All in all, this is an incredible microphone, build quality on the mic itself feels superb and mine get used on a daily basis in the studio. Quality control on the secondary parts like shockmount and connectors leave something to wish for.
