Sound remains too digital
Bought the Powercab 112 after reading some very positive reviews on specialized magazines, thinking it would help me to achieve live the fabulously clean and driven guitar tone I hear, on Audio-Technica headphones, from some of the Helix LT patches, but unfortunately, I was wrong...
For a long time I was looking for a speaker or amp that could reproduce authentic E-guitar sounds. As Line6 introduced the power cab 112 this seemed to be a really good idea.
Although, for my personal taste, this really good idea does not work because of the lack of a realistic e-guitar sound and some digital restrictions (that may be, because of my taste for tube amps). So I returned the quite pricy cab within a 30 days money back policy, thanks to Thomann fabulous customer service!
To get the best of both worlds live, I now use a Helix LT, as my main pedalboard, into a Fender Princeton 68' Reverb RI modded with a Celestion G10 Greenback.
I can assure you this:
It sounds much better with the Princeton than it did with the Powercab 112. It's just the real thing!
