Great use, but possibly faulty unit?
I purchased this because I wanted to purchase a pair of secondary reference monitors and needed a fast and easy way to switch between the pair. This seemed like a fantastic way to do it but I do have one complaint with it. Running pink noise trough my new speakers, I noticed that ever since wiring the speakers trough the Big Knob, the left speaker seemed to be noticeably quieter than the right speaker. I checked this without the Big Knob, and the issue went away instantly. It could be a bad cable, but I do think it had more to do with the unit itself. I might return it, but the convenience of changing is holding me back. Purchase with caution!

Not for a long term use
After a 6 month of use, the know became noisy when turning it and hum noise will come from my speakers.
Cheap solution for a second monitor but will come with a sound cost

Built like a tank, has excellent features, pretty cheap.
Only con I have is that the mono button when it's engaged outputs slightly louder on one speaker, instead of being dead center. Tested mono capability of my speakers with the inbuilt interface mono button and software mono, both were dead center.

Nice device - can be better :)
Nice device :) May be it will be better if the buttons have some led light, but in this case the device is passive. No headphones output. Money - quality - NICE

Useful tool
I bought this controller in order to connect a multi track recorder and an audio interface to my Yamaha monitors. As an added and welcomed bonus i had the possibility to connect an extra pair of passive monitors through an amp, as well as connecting my phone or other external stereo sources to an AUX input. At the moment i have it at my disposal in the studio, but don't use it all the time because to my ears there is a slight sound degradation.
Pros: Very well built, many useful functions (like mono. dim. mute)
Cons: Slight signal degradation

Very good
I have noticed a frequency resposne change with Dim function, when using balanced line signal. When I used a headphone out on my Audient iD4 instead the problem goes away and there is no noticeable noise to justify using balanced signal anyway.

Simple tool
Simple passive controller. Does its job. At very low volume stereo balance can be a bit off.

Easy to use speaker select box
Set this up so people can plug their phones into the studio speakers via the 3.5mm jack setting. Works fine for a writing room setup.

Very functional
I use this in a small home studio setup. Perfect for mixing/ recording and general music playback. It's a must-have for any pair of speakers. It's solid, durable and compact. It does lack a few features, but for the price - this is the best one you'll come across. I would highly recommend it overall!

Great… but no headphone out
Everything has been said : it's a great passive unit, it works well, it's reliable and cheap.
I love the addition of the 1/8" input jack on input 2 (but bear in mind it bypasses the 1/4" output !)
There are few drawbacks tho :
no headphone output (so you still have to move your headphones :'( )
no trim knobs
it's somehow hard to tell the state of a button (pressed on not)
But hey, for that price, can I complain ?
