Fundamentally Flawed
The Raggedy Man 13.07.2026
I have had two of these and both have had to be returned. They both suffered from fret buzz on the E string which no amount of neck relief or string height adjustment could solve. Essentially the neck geometry was out - a fundamental problem! I would hazard a guess the QC in the factory has taken a bit of dip as these have a reputation for being well made. It's put me off the whole Marcus Miller brand to be honest. As a result I can only rate 1 star, in spite of the great sound and features, as it is fundamentally not useable.

Thomann however have been great and have honoured their money back guarantee.

C
Good looking bass - poor quality workmanship
CanaryKen 03.07.2026
Thomann are a very good company and the reviews for Sire MM basses is usually very good. The spec/features is great but on this particular bass it has a badly fitting neck to body joint, as there is a noticeable gap at the join. This could be a poorly located neck or maybe too wide a socket routed in the body. Either way, I'm surprised it left the Sire company in this condition. I still have faith in Sire and hope it was a one off, so I've asked Thomann for a replacement rather than a refund.
