Barely functional
Vujekvasyl 29.01.2020
The clamp instals easily but only on small speaker cabs due to limited grip. The spring that holds the clamp makes the strange sound when the amb is being played(!) sonuns like spring reverb. Funny effect but certainly unwanted. The movement of the gooseneck is limited and the neck keeps comming back to its initial position. Hence the clamp is barely functional.

E
Has some flaws
Erik7934 13.01.2014
A clamp-on mic stand for the gutar amp is very practical for many situations. I'm using the Millennium Amp Clamp during rehershals and plan on using it live too. It's very easy to mount and there is no risk of bumping it out of position.

There are two flaws with the construction. First, the gooseneck is not flexible enough and tends to flex back when you try to position it. It's difficult to get it to point exactly where you want it to point. I'm going to replace it with a better goose neck (any mic stand goose neck should be possible to mount).

Second, I would have wanted it to be able to accept wider cabinets. My fellow guitarist in the band has an Orange 2x12 cab, and it's too wide for the amp clamp.

In summary, it's a nice product, but make sure your cabinet is narrow enough, and you need to plan on replacing the goose neck.

Not really fit for purpose
Anonymous 27.01.2016
I've tried this with a couple of mics, and it can't hold anything in place. The gooseneck bends back out towards straight, and you can't easily fit an alternative as it's a female connector on the clamp (the supplied goose neck is male-male). It's a shame, as it's a great idea in theory, it just doesn't quite work.

Fits fine, but doesn't stay in place
Anonymous 09.10.2014
bought 2 of these to minimize the amount of stands on stage when performing.

Fits nicely on our fender twinreverb amps with the clamp.
The downside is that the gooseneck doesn't stay in place during a concert. We've tried different placements on the amp, but all with the result that the gooseneck straightens a bit over time and mic is therefore no longer in place causíng the sound to alter or not being there at all!!!

maybe you get what you pay for?

Not sturdy
Anonymous 26.06.2014
The amp clamp is simply not sturdy enough. The goose neck can't even hold up a SM57. And that has to be classified as a standard microphone for amp cabinets. But I did buy an amp stand aswell, and when the amp is angled backwards, it's easier to position the mic, since the ampclamp doesn't have to fight gravity as much.

If you want a steady ampclamp, that just works, buy the audix one instead.

Can't keep mics in place
robwoprod 11.09.2022
Like others have said, the bendable arm is too weak to support a mic like the sm57, or pretty much anything else. It even collapses on itself just ajdusting it before being mounted. Go for a stiff arm instead, like the cab grabber. What you lose in flexability you gain in it actually working.

Not very good
Milen 21.07.2013
Using it with SHURE SM57.
If the clamp is located on the sides it cant hold the mic. The clamp must be put on top of the amp, but still the goose neck is very shaky.

Almost unusable..
LaszloM 11.01.2017
Mine is almost unusable. Clamping to cabinet is OK, but the gooseneck doesn't keep the mic holder in stable position.

Not strong enough
Theo M 28.06.2014
This seemed to be a godsend for me, as I record much at home and would love to have a permanent mic setup on my amp. Sadly, this device can't even hold the weight of an SM57 and won't stay in position when I set it up.

If you get a good position and never, ever move your amp or mic, this is the product for you. However, do not expect it to work for gigging or experimenting with mic placement.

Pretty bad
Anonymous 29.04.2016
I found to my huge surprise that it's incapable of holding up an SM57... It hangs down under its weight. That's a deal-breaker if there ever was one.
