Much more than I expected
ABassPlayer 15.07.2015
I originally bought this stand as a compact alternative to the Millenium MA-2050, and I have to say I'm happy I made the purchase.

I can really see this a great alternative for those who do not have the budget nor care for the flexibility and features of something like the Rode PSA-1 (Also a great stand by the way)

The build quality on this really is great, the hinge is really nice and chunky and has no problem flying my sE 2200 A even with the arm extended, so it would be just fine with something the size of an SM58

It also comes with two mounting options: a stand that can be screwed into a desk with three screws (included), or a clamp that attaches to the edge of a table. The clamp has a foam pad which contacts the top of your surface to prevent scratches, which I think is a nice touch.

The cable is also of good quality too with Switchcraft style connectors- but not actual switchcraft, it's also a decent length to manage on the average desk or to hide away to plug into an extension if that's your use case, and the cable itself feels good.
I'll also point out that while the plugs are not genuine Switchcraft they are very solid, the soldering is also very clean on both ends of the cable.

It has a 3/8 thread but comes with a 5/8 adapter, nice to have around but not that I had a shortage.

There are a few minor cons though.

The way the stand attached to the base is simply by inserting the shaft into a socket and then tightening a screw on the base and is not threaded, so it's not possible to screw the stand into something like a round cast iron base.
There's also some room left in the socket, but this has not caused any stability issues when the screw is tightened.

This isn't a problem for me, but the screws that are included for the desk mount are perhaps a little on the short side, and while I doubt this would lead to any issue with stability, it does seem possible that a good knock could pull the screws right out of a surface made from chipboard or similar material.

Lastly, while the included cable is of good quality, it may limit the possible range of adjustments as the cable runs through the boom arm. You can, however, easily remove the cable but unfortunately this would require the removal of one of the XLR connectors on what is otherwise a fine cable.

In short:
Solid build quality
Fine with heavier mics, perfect for dynamics and SDC's
Good quality cable included (also easily removable/replaceable)
Flexible mounting options
Not the absolute best design in the world, but is still exceptional value.

Would purchase again... and again. Recommended.

j
Really really good for the price
jplebre 25.03.2020
As other reviews suggested, this isn't the sturdiest stand, the easiest stand to operate, but for the price you can't go wrong!

I decided to get one to try it with small action cameras for streaming. It comes with 2 different mounting methods that work really well. The stand is stable enough that it doesn't shift with vibrations of loud drumkits and people jumping, and kept the camera angle perfect for a couple of weeks now.

I can see it working well even with slightly heavier mics, but not with super heavy mics.

As per other reviews, the ratchet system used to set the stand angle and height is not the best, but still perfectly functional. If you have an heavy mic you might want to keep an hand on it when you unscrew the ratchet-like screw otherwise it might fall quicker than you anticipate.

Cable included is not super high quality but it's perfectly usable, despite what other reviews say. I wouldn't trust it on a stage or busy studio environments but it's meant to be installed (as it's inside the stand) so really not much of an issue there. I really doubt the other reviews that claims that that the cable sounds *bad*.

Okay.

This tripod is well made but a bit limited so buyer beware.
It can be turned around and set lower or higher on the table, however, we can't really do much with the position of the microphone and the knobs never seem to completely tighten, no matter the strength we apply.
The integrated cable is a big plus. Makes everything tidy.
It is an okay buy if one just wants to have a microphone stand on the table for streaming or chatting.

Solid desk mic stand
Speakerguy 24.04.2020
Used to hold a dynamic mic for commentary and does so with ease, tightens up well and the included mic cable seems to be good quality.
Option to screw it down or clamp to a desk is also a bonus.

I was looking for a stand to use in a small room that wouldn't take a lot of space. This tripod is fantastic! it doesn't take a lot of space, is stable and the quality is great. It includes a pre-wired XLR cable, which is very useful. I use it currently without any issue with the condenser microphone that it's included in the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Studio bundle, it's strong enough to hold it in place. I really recommend the Millenium DS100

Well designed and well made
Michael Bass 28.06.2023
This desktop microphone stand boasts an impressively well-thought-out design. Even when the microphone is not in use, it occupies minimal desk space, making it incredibly practical. The integrated cable management system effectively prevents any frustrating tangles. The adjustment mechanism is robust and reliable, ensuring the stand remains steady exactly when it should, eliminating any unwanted movement.

hangs from the ceiling!
imranino 18.04.2020
I got this so that I could have a vocal mic hanging from the ceiling, so that I could save on some floor space in my little basement studio! It works great, my condenser mic mounts upside down. Also much better in videos as there's less cumbersome mic booms etc in shot.

It looses one star on handling because I found a (dead) cockroach in the packaging.

Very handy stand, but mic falls off regularly
Viscose 21.06.2020
I love the mobility of the stand, makes my recording space so much cleaner and less cluttered but my Rode NT1A mounts okay but I cannot touch the nozzle after that or else it will instantly fall off the mount. Kind of disappointing, got worse over time, now I cannot seem to mount the microphone onto the stand at all, as I twist to tighten it just stays loose :(

It won't drop your microphone!
robbasaur 18.05.2017
Well, see the thing is when I decide to start recording acoustic stuff and vocals I needed something to hold up the mic I bought. Since that I will be mostly using the mic for podcast and video audio I thought it would be better tot buy a stand for the table, so it became this one. the coolest thing is if you should have a glass table you are able to use the clamp that is delivered with, you don't have to screw it into your table. A minor issue is that even though you are able to tighten tings real good for maximum stability, you lose a lot of the freedom to move. but hey for the price you can't beat it. Cheers.
