yes you need two of them but you never hear them hit the gong. the soft heads hit the gong but you dont hear it - I would never swap mine for any ever love these and yes they are expensive but worth every penny

Si je ne devais en garder qu'une ce serait celle-là ! Enfin, deux car je les utilise toujours en paire.
Extrêmement polyvalente, petits gongs (20"), grands gongs (38") elle excelle partout !
Elle est très discrète et douce. On n'entend pas l'impact.
Le poids est idéal pour les roulements ou les frappes prologées.
Mes mailloches préférées ! Et mon constructeur préféré Olli Hess
