Wonderful China cymbal
DrumLights 04.08.2021
My first Paiste 2002 Series cymbal, and I must say it's absolutely delicious. I bought it because my old Zultan china had given up the ghost quite quickly (although the sound and the volume were AWESOME) and I needed a new one to record a metal album with one of my bands, but also for the live, post-COVID, gigs to come.

You may probably need to bash it quite hard in order to make it sound LOUD, but the interesting fact is that you don't really need to, given that it cuts through guitars with no problems. Also, the sound in itself is somewhat unique (I've researched different china cymbal sounds here on Thomann and then on the Paiste site, once I decided I wanted one), in that it's kinda buttery, but with a certain edge and clarity to it. My recording engineer noticed this from the very first hits and was pleasantly intrigued.

PROS
- great visual presentation, the 2002 series doesn't disappoint
- the sound, while not too aggressive and loud, is sharp and defined and can hold its own without problems in the mix
- very pleasant ride qualities

CONS
- I've got none, so far
