Für die Aufnahme fetter Tomsounds gibt es für mich nichts besseres als Remo Pinstripe. Obwohl ich auch gerne mit Fellen experimentiere (Hauptsächlich vom Hersteller mit dem E), habe ich einen vergleichbaren Sound nicht finden können.

Zugegeben: Viel Resonanz und Sustain bietet das Fell nicht, dafür fettes Lowend und guten, brauchbaren Attack (hier bei der coated Version minimal weniger als bei der clear Variante). Aufgenommen klingen die Toms kurz, dick und wie vorkomprimiert. Für Rock und härtere Musik also perfekt.

Bei "Sound" habe ich einen Stern abgezogen weil dieses Fell wirklich nicht sehr vielseitig ist. Tiefes bis mittleres Tuning ist super, hohes Tuning geht gar nicht klar. Das Fell ist live gehört vielleicht nicht das musikalischste, für Aufnahmen im Rock-Bereich im unteren Stimmspektrum aber absolut eine Instanz!

Die Haltbarkeit des Coatings ist Super (im Gegensatz zu einigen anderen Remo Fellen). Beim Stimmen kann man kaum was falsch machen, das Teil ist so dick und klobig, Obertöne werden sofort durch den eingearbeiteten Dämpfring eliminiert.
