Gets the job done at first, but then...
danstabwoi 13.09.2020
I'm using the Rock n Ruler strictly to measure pickup height--I use other tools for other measurements. I also have many electric guitars, so its getting a fair amount of use. I set most of my pickups to around the 2.5mm mark.

Given the above, after a couple of months of use the black notches surrounding and including the 2.5mm mark have already worn out, due to the unavoidable contact and friction with guitar strings when taking a measurement.

This has made it difficult to get an exact and accurate reading with the ruler alone.

While I don't find you *need* to be extremely accurate with pickup height per se, and its best to go by ear, the ruler has as consequence become a less than ideal tool for the purpose of accurate note and reference taking, and needs to be supplemented by a second reading with another tool for accuracy's sake. I'm using a feeler gauge alongside it for this purpose.

This is the only guitar ruler I've ever used, so I don't know how it compares to others on the market or if it's just in the nature of a metal rule to suffer this fate.

If you prefer to take very accurate readings as I do, make sure you have a second tool to hand to check your readings and keep them consistent.

I use this ruler to set my action and to adjust pickup height.
Its perfect for setting action. But for setting pickups its a bit funky.
It doesnt fit at some spots so you have to be carefull and rotate the ruler in order to take good measurments. While this is not a problem its not ideal either. The thing that i dont like is that different rulers ( you ve got 3x mm and 3x inch rulers ) have different markings (One has a bigger line every 1 mm one every 2,5 and the third has the same markings every 0,5 mm) i dont like that and in some cases it difficult to see where you at.

Build quality seems ok so far

Helped me make my guitar play much smoother
UlisB 14.05.2020
About 6 months ago, I got a new PRS SE Standard 24 from Thomann (Great service, by the way) and I found that the string action was set much too high for my taste. With the help of this product, I was able to fine-tune my string action to my liking. Now, my guitar plays like a dream. The markings on the ruler in both inches and mm are very useful because online guides about string action use both when giving advice. On the back of the Rock 'N Ruler, there is even a handy guide for how to set up electric, acoustic, and bass guitar. My only complaint is to make the product a bit thinner so that it is easier to fit onto the guitar neck. Again, great service and delivery. Thank you Thomann!

A Useful Tool to Have on Hand
Schengis 30.01.2021
If you do adjustments on the regular or you need a quick tool to grab while you're away from the workbench, then this is a decent choice.

On the positive side of things: It's compact and can easily fit into a pocket or wallet for the on-the-go guitar tech, the metal is very solid and it doesn't feel cheap at all, and it has all of the relevant measurements (in metric and imperial) that you may need for a quick adjustment.

As for the negatives: The corners and edges felt dangerously sharp. I was a bit worried that I might put a gash in a fingerboard if I slipped up or dropped it. If you're working on delicate instruments, I'd recommend a different tool or at least sanding down the corners carefully.

In summary: Great little tool to have around, but perhaps sometimes not the best choice.

Simple tool in a handy size
Anon-e-mus 30.07.2020
This is a handy thing to have for adjusting string and pickup height. Rather than finding a ruler or tape measure, this is a manageable size for making these relatively small scale measurements. The flat edges mean you can use it as a fret rocker too (though I'm not sure if it has been machined for that purpose). The size means it is easy to hold in use and fits in a gig back so you can keep it with the rest of your gear. It comes in a paper envelope which I always use, but it's not really a durable, on-the-road solution and a plastic sleeve would probably be better. Overall a handy tool to have around when doing height related set-ups.

We all need that
Alan Mikro 07.09.2020
We all need this credit card in our life, at least people who are seting up guitars. My life is so much easyer now. You got both Metric and imperial measurement system. Only one thing that is missing to five stars is that markers and scales are coloured and not laser ingraved...well I guess is the price. Overal I will buy same one when this will wore out.

PROS:
I can carry it in my wallet (except when flying, I guess).
It does exactly what it's supposed to.

Cons:
The paint is beginning to wear off, but for now it just cosmetics.

It features both metric and imperial sizes. Does what it is supposed to do. But edges are a bit too sharp!

It gives you a lot of measurement opitions. The edges are quite sharp, so you need to be careful.
