N
Great 90s Evolving Pads, Atmos and Textures
Nep604 24.03.2026
Essentially a tiny JD800, you either like the sound or it's not your gist. It's mostly great for pads , atmos and textures, and thanks to the way the envelopes are programmed it's great for sounds that evolve over time.
Each patch has 4 tones which is basically 4 oscillators, each with their own filter, lfo's, envelopes etc.
And you can play 2 patches at once each via their own midi channel.
It's a shame it's so tiny, you really have to resourt to reading the (online) manual a ton in order to have an idea of what you can really do with this machine and it takes a while to learn, but for the price one cannot complain.
I am giving it 4 stars because of that and also because even though the JD800 is fully digital so this shouldn't be hard to get the exact sound right it feels like this version is lighter on the low end and some waveforms are on the wrong octave which also makes some of the presets sound different.
