S-1 sounds good, it can produce some nice bass sounds and plucky keys, but I find it a pain to use with those small knobs, rubbery keyboard and a 4-letter screen. If all you need is a very portable SH-101 with some OK effects, then you'll probably be satisfied with S-1.

Digital aliasing
Jean1867 03.07.2024
It would be a nice solid portable synthesizer if it weren't for the digital aliasing of higher notes or, when using filter resonance, even of random notes around C5. It sounded like someone tuning a shortwave radio in the background. I can't exclude, though, that my unit was faulty because S1 seems to have a lot of good reviews.
