Okay alternative to steel

I bought these strings for a recording session. I wanted new strings but without all the sparkle of steel strings. These are mellower than hybrids and worked well for a clean sounding new set without lots of sparkle. My main disappointment is the they feel really rough on the fingers and are probably not very good for your fretboard.
