This mic has clean high end, smooth lows, perfectly balanced. Very bright for a ribbon, gives it all it's charm.
Not too noisy for a ribbon mic, love it on vocals and guitars.
Affordable and robust.

Great mic on guitar cabs
In use primarily on guitar cabs bringing studio sound to stages, it's smooth sounding and tour grade rugged for situations i thought I'd never be using a ribbon.
Great addition to any mic collection.

Amazing ribbon mic
I bought the VR1 to primarily use on my saxophone, however ever since I bought it I find myself using it on sources like overheads, vocals, guitar amps etc. This mic can take pretty much anything. It has a pleasing bass roll-off that I find useful and it doesn't thin the mic out. Really good mic for the price, isn't very gain hungry. If my Steinberg UR 242 can drive the mic without an issue, I doubt anything else will have a problem.

VR1 Voodo band mic
I record guitar cabinets with this Microphone and a cloud filter. I have 2 albums selling on the internet and lots of guitar players always ask how I get that sound. It’s a great mid range band microphone!
