Quality replacement XLR socket
This fits straight into an SM58 and I've been able to re use 2 old mics that would otherwise have needed donor mics for new pins as nobody seems to sell these anywhere, including Shure UK! They said that due to the amount of fakes around they do not sell this part, which sounds ridiculous when the rest of the mic is bombproof and designed to last for a lifetime. In fact one of the 58's I fixed had the old style wiring meaning it was made before 1981 and it sounds just as good as a brand new one. So why would Shure not sell the replacement for one of the only parts that may wear out or get broke. Anyway, no matter now, Thomann to to the rescue. I searched all over the UK and can guarantee nowhere else sells these. They are very easy to fit, you just need to solder 2 wires on the rear of the pins, which is a little fiddly but the solder seems to flow well into the recess. Then just push in, the slot and groove let you only put it in one way, just push it far enough for the hole to line up with the hole in the mic, then tighten the grub screw.

essential Shure Spare part
Used to restore old SM58 mics. much easier than trying. to re solder old sockets, cheap to buy. fit perfectly. sorted.
All we need now is to stop singers whirling the mic around above their heads by the leads when it's not their kit!

Socket not only for SM58
Original socket. Suitable almost for all Beta (57 and 58 100%),
SM 48/57/58 and maybe for lots of hand microphomes of Shure. Maybe not only for Shure.

Does exactly what it says! Bought a couple to replace on my old 57's and 58's.
Easy 5 minute soldering job and slip these back in, adjust the screw and boom! Working microphones.

100% What it says on the tin
So i Inherited a pretty battered SM58 for nothing that was about to get thrown away cause of the problem with the XLR socket.
Theres not much to say about this unit though, It is a direct replacement part and worked PERFECTLY, meaning i basically got a free SM58.

A spare part which I have been unable to source anywhere else. I would rather pay a little extra for quality than purchase an inferior product.

great 58 replacement socket
I thought when the xlr socket of my sm8 came out I was going to have to buy another one, but a friend of mine informed me that you can buy a replacement socket, which I have since fitted and has worked perfectly since! if another one goes I will definitely buy again
