JMP MARSHALL-SPL REDUCER-2 SPEAKER G12 65 CELESTION
I have a Marshall JMP 2203 Master Model Lead 100w Mk2 from 1979 with two 65W speakers and on club gigs and at rehersals was way too loud. That kind off amps start to perform best at 3/4, i used to play at 1/4 or less. USED TO!!!
With SPL REDUCER i finally have true hot tube sound of this excellent amp even in my house. I have SPL for two days and as far i played with it I think its really minimal change of sound even at bedroom level. Check yourself some videos about SPL and you will see like i did. Its great it is pasive. It gets hot so have a beer and your fingers away and wait until tubes and SPL cool down.
It looks very cool, solid. Considering the impedance setting knob is at front panel near two other volume knobs, be carefull not to change them in the dark. Don't set impedance while operating!!! I put some tape across it for safety!
If lost i would buy another!!!

The best guitar attenuator I have found on the market at the moment!
This is a passive attenuator which does not alter the guitar's tone unlike active attenuators do.
It is very simple and easy to use and the minimal features may also preserve the guitar's tone, just like a simple guitar amp when compared to a more complex amp.
Also, it can attenuate up to 200W of power (for 8 ohm cabinets) which is one of the most powerful I've come across on the market.
I was considering getting an other type of attenuator which uses a speaker motor and is said to be even more transparent on tone but SPL's professional site and informative video demos on YouTube convinced me to make the choice to get this attenuator instead.
I also want to mention that SPL have a very helpful service and will answer all your questions.
Personally, I will order a second copy of this model because I have two cabinets. I could use one attenuator for both but two would handle the power more easily and the amplifier's master volume could be set higher, allowing for more power tube tone and even saturation, if desired.
As for features, it's all on the item info page; for example, variable resistance for use with different amps and the text at the back is printed both upright and inverted, for easy reading when it is connected and you want to read the connection info! Very good idea!

Simple but sounds good!
It's a passive attenuator with impedance switch. Nothing fancy and no reactive load features. However, it sounds great!
Makes me wonder about spending so much on a reactive attenuator to be honest now. Even on the high attenuation settings, the unit still let's the amp and guitar shine through. Love it so far!

Keeps my Mesa Mark V 25 under control
It's difficult to get a good sound at home with low volume but I have had good results combining the Reducer with a volume control on the FX return. These things are always a compromise but I can get some great tones under 90dB which works for me.

SPL Reducer
First I want to say excellent service and Fast delivery
An excellent product at a reasonable price does the job and preserves the sound of the amplifier even at a very low volume.
