Killer Transport for your DAW
I have the UF8 & UC1 so I had an idea of what was to come with the UF1 but to my surprise, it's even better than I imagined. Two stand-out features are, the EQ visualiser for the UC1 and the Meter section. These two things alone make the unit worth it. I no longer need to buy a hardware meter (which are fairly expensive: around €300).
Great quality build as would expect from SSL!

SSL UF1 – Not Quite the UC1, But Still Seriously Useful
I picked up the UF1 to complement my UC1, and while it doesn’t have quite the same wow factor, it’s still a fantastic bit of kit that earns its place on the desk.
The build is exactly what you’d expect from SSL—solid, weighty, and professional. The fader feels great, and the layout is clean and responsive. What I really appreciate is the visual feedback on the screen. Being able to see and control your sends directly from the surface is such a time-saver, especially when working quickly or jumping between tracks. It brings a level of DAW integration that you don’t get from most controllers in this price range.
While the UC1 still steals the show for me, the UF1 quietly does its job really well—and that counts for a lot. It doesn’t try to be flashy, just efficient and well thought out. I find myself using it more than I expected, especially for writing automation and navigating sessions.
If you’re already in the SSL 360 ecosystem, the UF1 is a solid addition. No, it doesn’t feel quite as magical as the UC1, but it’s still incredibly useful—and in typical SSL fashion, built like a tank. That screen showing your sends? Genuinely brilliant. I've been running them both with Studio One

Best DAW controller i have used
Had the steinberg controller before and the workflow just wasnt there enough. Now with the triple UF* set the experience is amazing having faders, daw and effects in single deck.

Bees knees
The build quality is second to none, if you are looking for as single controller, it is perfect. I have it as part of the complete SSL Controller set, Its great to see you EQ settings and you'll soon find, as strange as it may seem, you will start to use your eyes to set the EQ . plus the metering is superb - UF1 is a learning curve, but worth it.... Get a cover for your investment. Dust is a killer for all electrical components

The best controller ever!
I bought UF1 as an addition to my 2 x UF8, 1 x UC1 system. I must say that this controller works very well with the other family members. The Big buttons for basic operations (Start, Stop, etc.) are excellent. The big nice jog wheel is very handy. The 4.3” LCD TFT Display with a lot of metering options (comes with the Meter Pro Plugin) is fantastic. It works also as a standalone controller and it has one motorised fader, same quality as the UF8 faders. SSL Controllers are great and this one is a rough diamond!
