Does the job but poor construction
TrEr 21.02.2015
Like the title says, it does the job but the build quality isn't the best. The fastening knobs are of poor quality. I feel like I have to tighten them so much to be secure that somewhere down the line the threads are bound to strip. Also, it's not very user friendly. The "engraved detented positions" can simply be ignored. The engraved scale is just sliding around and almost impossible to use.

The price is low compared to similar (and better!) products. I guess you get what you pay for. For basic stereo setups where precise angles aren't critical I guess it is ok. At least until it breaks... time will show how the build quality holds up.

Ok for a home/project studio but certainly not a professional tools.

B
Made well enough but a weird scale and only suitable for A-B
BernieW 15.12.2022
The two mounts on the ends of this bar are drilled so you can hang it from wires or cords, with the mics hanging down. The only other available mounts like this I've seen cost much more. The manufacturing is fine, the 2 mounting points slide and lock stably. Great cheap way to hang mics above a choir, orchestra etc
But! The scale on the side is not in centimeters, or half inches or any unit you've heard of. Measure from number 1 to 20 and it turns out to be 24cm. Plus, the "1" markings on each side are 7cm apart. From the scale on the side you have no idea what the spacing actually is, so you'd better bring something to measure with!

Also there is no spacer to raise one mic above the other for X-Y, ORTF etc, so you'd have to aim the mics slightly up and down for these. The angle indents are at 15 degree steps so there's no setting for 110 degrees for ORTF, and they only go to 45 degrees max anyway. You could angle the mic clips on the mounts but it means there's no support for ORTF on this mount at all.

If you just want to use A-B it works well enough (bring a ruler!) and it does have hanging points, but it has these limitations. I prefer the T-Bone StereoBar 1 Pro, it's just as wide, has a cm scale, a tilting joint with scale, 4 mounting points that go to any angle and you can still hang it inverted by threading the wires through the ends. A much better design for just a little more money
