Ich habe schon einige Mundstücke von teuer bis preisgünstig. Mein Favorit ist das preisgünstige D'Addario Metalite M7 und das relativ teure Mundstück von Gottsu Alto Sepia Ton 6. Beide haben ihre Stärken. Mit dem M7 spiele ich leicht von ganz tief bis zum hohen Fis F''', der Klang ist nicht so kräftig. Das Gottsu hat einen warmen vollen Klang, allerdings habe ich Schwierigkeiten die hohen Töne ab dem hohen E"' zu treffen. Der Blaswiderstand ist dafür geringer als beim M7. Als Blätter verwende ich die von Legere Signatur und die von Forestone Alto MS, S und Hinoki MS.
Nun zu dem 3D Mundstück... im Vergleich zu den anderen Mundstücken lässt es sich weiter auf den S-Bogen schieben, die Auflagefläche für das Blatt ist etwas breiter. Der Ton ist kraftvoll und man kann richtig laut spielen. Allerdings gehen die hohen Töne ab dem hohen D"' mit den Legere Blättern überhaupt nicht. Mit den Forestone Blättern gibt es bei den hohen Tönen keine Probleme. Aber der Ton klingt insgesamt hohler als beim Gottsu Mundstück.
Fazit: Wer laut und kraftvoll spielen will und bei hohen Tönen das richtige Blatt verwendet, hat hier ein gutes Mundstück.
