Sound - Guitar sounds as one would expect from a solid spruce top and rosewood back and sides (solid back, laminated sides in this case). The sound is very balanced, and you can feel the trademark warm tone of Takamine. The projection is not amazing, but with the spruce tops, you have to give it some time to open up.
Never plugged it in but I can't imagine it would disappoint in any way with that cool tube preamp, which is considered to be the best in the market by many.
Playability - The NEX body shape is comfortable. The asymmetrical profile neck is also very easy to navigate. Only thing I noticed was the slightly high action, but that can be easily adjusted. And it's worth to note that personally I prefer very low action. Since the nut width is 42mm, it can get tricky when playing fingerstyle. For everything else, no complaints. And by the way, bends are very easy for an acoustic.
Build quality - Just perfect
Looks - It looks like a premium instrument. If I'm being picky, It could do with slightly different inlays like the ones in P7NC instead of the standard dots, and also an ebony fingerboard instead of rosewood. But would those tweaks worth spending an extra 1000 euros for the P7, I don't think so.
Pros:
Amazing build quality
Playability
Cons:
Laminated sides
