Had never really considered aluminium shell before , but this snare is usual Tama quality and with a sound that is so wide and that suits so much music , using now as general purpose snare , a great drum that gets a lot of positive comment .

Für ein anstehendes Studio-Album machte ich mich auf die Suche nach einer neuen "1er"-Snare. Ich habe ca. ein Jahr lang immer wieder recharchiert und mir etliche Testberichte, Forenmeinungen und Soundfiles reingezogen. Am Schluss lieferten sich die Ludwig Legenden (Starphonic, Acrolite) und dieses Herzchen ein Kopf an Kopf rennen. Da alle diese Snares Soundtechnisch TOP sind war für mich das ausschlaggebend das man mit der Starphonic eine echte Leidenschaft und Innovation im Schlagzeugbau erwirbt während sich die amerikanischen Kollegen sich ständig auf ihren "Legenden" stützen die sich nie mehr weiterentwickelt haben. Den Preis hab ich in meiner Evaluierung nicht berücksichtigt. Umso herzerwärmender ist die Tatsache dass die Starphonic auch noch günstiger ist ;) Fazit: ein absoluter Keeper das Teil, Erbstück, bin echt begeistert !
