It's a cable
S. Walker 31.03.2020
Came supplied free of charge with an amplifier purchased from Thomann. Seemed like a reasonable power cable until I turned over the plug and discovered one of the pins had simply sheared off after an impact in transit, making the cable completely unusable. Whilst this was partly a packaging issue, it also doesn't exactly sing the praises of the durability of the plug.

The problem is, like many "modern" UK plugs, this one has power pins with plastic bases and only a metal tip, so that it's better insulated and the user shock-protected when inserting it into a socket. Unfortunately, what this pin style adds in safety, it takes away in durability, making the pins brittle and easy to snap when compared to the full-length metal ones that run right back into the plug body.

Fine for home use but if that's what a bit of shipping did to it, I can't see it surviving life on the road for very long. A shame the wall plug let this down, as the actual cable seemed to be thick and of a fair quality, and the IEC C13 "kettle" plug that goes into the equipment was of a good standard too.

Not long enough
TequilaMockingbird 13.02.2020
This came as the power cord for a lighting rig -my only issue is when the rig is fully extended the plug isn't on the ground but half way up the tripod. Apart from that it works fine.

Decent home rig cable
Cai 05.05.2018
Not the longest but it's of sturdy quality and it does the job, can be a tad short for certain things depending on the closest plug socket available. It does however power things absolutely fine with no problem so no qualms there.

Not bad
Lahm 17.05.2017
These snake cords are alright. The only thing I'd fault is the length of the XRL connector/plug is longer than your usual XRLs so when linking to a desk near a wall for instance, it reduces the space you have between the desk and the wall. Other than that, the sound quality is great and I haven't had any other faults. Good value for money.

Not the most robust cable, but fine for what it is
Han-earl 08.01.2021
I got this free with a product that included Schuko (CEE 7/4) plug. As a free item to get started, it's fine for what it is.

I certainly would not have any issues using this inside racks or enclosures, but I would be wary of using them on-stage in an environment in which it may be stepped-on or rolled-over. It's just not very robust feeling.

Otherwise, it's mid-quality molded construction with a cable that at least does not suffer much from memory effects.

Great that Thomann realised that a power cord was needed
doghouse 18.05.2021
and they sent the correct one for the country in the delivery address, so I could power up the item upon arrival. It would have been better if they could have removed the European lead from the box, as it won't be used here. Luckily, it did not go to waste as an European colleague desperately needed an European IEC lead, and I was happy to oblige.
