The t.bone EM 9900 is a condenser shotgun microphone good for the price
ProteuS404 02.08.2023
The t.bone EM 9900 is a condenser shotgun microphone that is well-suited for a variety of applications, including film, video, and broadcast, I personally use it for sound design. It features a hypercardioid polar pattern that provides excellent rejection of off-axis noise, making it ideal for use in noisy environments. The microphone also has a switchable low-cut filter that helps to reduce unwanted low-frequency rumble.

The t.bone EM 9900 is built to last, with a rugged metal housing that can withstand the rigors of everyday use. The microphone also comes with a shock mount and a windshield to help protect it from wind noise.

In terms of sound quality, the t.bone EM 9900 delivers clear, detailed audio with good transient response. The microphone also has a wide frequency response that captures all the nuances of the sound being recorded.

Overall, the t.bone EM 9900 is a great value for the price. It is a well-made, versatile microphone that delivers excellent sound quality.

Here are some of the pros and cons of the t.bone EM 9900:

Pros:

Excellent sound quality
Wide frequency response
Hypercardioid polar pattern
Switchable low-cut filter
Rugged metal construction
Comes with shock mount and furry windshield

Cons:

Can be a bit bulky
Not as sensitive as some other shotgun microphones

Overall, the t.bone EM 9900 is a great value for the price. It is a well-made, versatile microphone that delivers excellent sound quality. If you are looking for a shotgun microphone that is built to last and sounds great, the t.bone EM 9900 is a great option.

BP
Good, but long
Baobab Produkcija 09.05.2019
It's a very good shotgun for that price range, it sounds clear and the speech is comprehensible. I use it constantly for my work as a boom operator, it has not failed me yet.
Not to have only positive things to say it has two flaws the first one is that it has these small screws that are very flimsy and come off easily, this can be fixed simply by carrying a small screwdriver. It's not a big issue, but it is something that you have to consider when working with em9900.
The other thing is its length, which I personally like but it is harder to find deadcat for it, and I had to get a blimp with an extension.
The last point could be because of my ignorance and lack of search knowledge, but It is also something someone may consider when buying this microphone.
All and all a very good mic for working on films, series or something.
Good luck

Great Deal.

I actually received one that had been slightly damaged in transit, and despite this, it's still a pretty decent quality microphone for a few different uses. Decent bass, decent range. I actually use it for podcasting and find it pretty well suited to the task.

Also, the issue of the slight damage was very well handled by customer service. :)

A
Good mic
Anonymous 06.11.2016
Really good microphone given the price which is the main selling factor. Sound is satisfying although if you push it a bit more on the recorder it starts introducing unwanted noise. You will need to keep the levels moderate and bring it as close as possible to the sound source to eliminate this unwanted noise. Build quality is good. However the mic is kinda long and I am finding it hard to find a dead cat cover for it for outdoors wind situations. That's one of the reasons that got me thinking into getting Rode NTG4 mic with accessories. But anyway as I said the price is great for the quality you get.

it's fine for speech, needs careful mounting or will give you mechanical noise, but amazing for the price.

Cool Shotgun

Great product for the price. I am using it in my video production work, when I don't want to use wireless microphones in interviews. I correct it a little in post - add a little bass and it's great.
