Sturdy, does its job reliably, could be more convenient
The universal clip is sturdy, rugged and well-built, much more so than the Ovid microphone itself! The spring is very strong, and the jaws are lined with rubber, ensuring a strong grip.
The screwable holder for the Ovid microphone is a bit annoying to use, as it consists of two parts and must be completely unscrewed to install or remove the microphone, and can only hold it at one angle. Once installed, it holds the microphone sturdily.
The jaws are very strong, but also rather small! It?s only possible to grip surfaces up to about 6mm thick with the clip.
At first I thought there was no fitted compartment for this clip in the Ovid system case, but it turns out it fits very nicely into the bottom of the rectangular cut-out where the Ovid microphone cable goes.

Just what you expect
There's not much to it, it works as intended and the quality is quite great for the price but in the bounds of the expected.

Expensive for what it is
This clip does the job fine and works well with the ovid. It's a little expensive for my taste and the clip is quite strong compared to that of a sennheiser or shure clip on mic. I still use it on my trumpet and it works fine. Prefer it. to the DPA style clip, which I've never been a fan of.

For saxophone - very good
Rather small for other instruments beside saxophones. I was trying to use it on clarinet but it cannot get a grip, clarinet corpus is thick for it.
But, overall, good quality, sturdy and the grip is strong, doesn't slip.
