Did the job, just about
Anonymous 13.10.2016
I had a cheap mic (AT2020 I think?), and I bought this because the 'official' shockmount was almost the same price as the mic.

It fit, and it worked reasonably well - but it was insanely tight, and incredibly difficult to open. When I first bought it, it was almost a two-man job to get a mic in it (though it did ease up a bit).

There was a small piece of felt inside, but at the opening of the ring, there's two metal tubes (which hold the spring levers you pull to open it up) which scratched the hell out of the mic. Not ideal.

On a slightly smaller mic, maybe it wouldn't have been an issue, but I measured the mic and bought the one that should have fit it.

Basic and great!
GearBuff 28.10.2019
Just a simple, good shockmount that works! The plastic feels strong, as do the rubber/elastic bands. Using it for a CM25 MKiii that came with the 3rd Gen Scarlett solo studio pack. Its as if this shockmount was built for this mic. A perfect fit!

Matches Specs. Good Value. Not ideal for AT2020. May cause damage.
Nonameguy 24.10.2020
The shock mount is exactly as advertised. Bought it to use with an AT2020, it was a tight squeeze but does work, but in fair the dimension given by Thomann are correct so no complaints I knew what I was getting.

As per previous reviews, the edges of the clamp mechanism may scrape the paint work of any mic as you put it in so be careful.

All in all it is good quality for the price and functions well as per description.

Great for use with Sennhesier 421!
Anonymous 18.09.2014
Great value shockmount that should work with most LDC mic's.
Maybe a little tight compared to others I have of the same design but they still do the trick, once the mic's in there you're safe in the knowledge that it won't be coming out anytime soon, and the elastic shockmount will reduce any noise from thumping feet etc around the mic stand.

I'm actually using these with my Sennheiser MD421's as I can't stand the terrible plastic arms they come with. Get one of these shockmount's around the body of the mic and it's more secure and gives shock absorption!

I
Good enough.
Ian1150 26.01.2015
This is a product which is made of metal, does its job properly, filters out mic stand rumble effectively and will stretch to fit mics of a wide range of sizes.

It's good to have a spare few of these knocking around and as its metal it will last a good while.

I found that it's operation was greatly improved by some extra lubrication - I sprayed a little silicon grease onto all the moving parts and now it has a more positive movement and you can gauge the tightness better as it is less scratchy. It's als easier to tighten it tighter once lubricated.

It will hold larger bodied condensers like my rode NT1a or a pure XIX and I imagine it could handle heavier mics too.

It comes with a U.S.-EURO mic stand three adapter which I'm not sure if that was mentioned in the description.

Excellent budget item for home studio
Felix4793 02.08.2015
Bought to fit my old (ancient) Rode NT2 Large diaphragm condenser mic. It fits very tightly - it takes quite a bit of strength to open the springs. So far it has been very stable. The hinge and knob move/tighten well. It is better than the mount that came with the mic which fell apart quite quickly.

I would say this is an excellent value-for-money choice for the home studio, but a professional studio, where different mics are being swapped in and out frequently would need a more expensive mount.

This shockmount is made from cheap metal that will fatigue much sooner than stainless steel or other more expensive alloys. I don't use this everyday, and just leave it set up with the one mic in it, so a top quality mount would be a waste of money to me.

At this price, I am more than happy with this item.

Perfeito para vários modelos de microfones
Fabiano Santana 11.02.2021

Feels solid and good quality for the price point
Sylvain.M 24.02.2021
Does the job well. I can't hear a difference compared to alternatives that are several time more expensive ...

Kit include all accessory you need (thread adapter and replacement springs).

Also fits the microphone from the Focusrite kits just fine, it's on the upper limit of what it can accept but the foam pad ensure you don't scratch the mic and it is held very securely.

No need for more expensive ones
Mark506 14.02.2014
In my case i needed one for my Audio Technica AT2020. The original one is about 80€, which is far more than I would want to spend for a mic like the 2020.

Fits perfect, filters vibrations very good.

HM
Good quality but doesn't quite fit my mic
Hector M. 19.11.2015
I bought this shock mount for my AT2020, considering that one of the reviews states that it fits properly. Nonetheless, the mic is hard to fit in the shock mount, and when you do so:
- it feels like you're stressing a lot the metal of the shock mount and the mic (though the mic looks and feels way sturdier)
- the mic is not centered in the shock mount, probably due to the stress applied to the holder.
Don't get me wrong, the quality of the shock mount is very good, but don't buy it for an AT2020 at least.
Thomann was very kind to accept the shock mount for return, but unfortunately sending it back is going to cost it more than the shock mount itself, so I'll just have to keep it.
