Good bass to start and go on
So I bought this bass returning to double bass after a 15 year break.
I am anyway a novice. The sound is good when I changed the strings. After 1 year and a half I am still happy with it but I`d like to try some more expensive instrument for comparison.
Anyway this bass is good for a novice and even more advanced player.
The setup is non existent. The action on all strings was 1cm when I got it so in absence of a luthier in my area I had to file the nut and the bridge on my own. Not difficult as many people say but you need the right tools like a rat tail file.
The tuners are not very good and the gummy covering the endpin wear out pretty quickly. Changing the endpin can be done but you need to saw it as it has got a securing that doesn`t allow the endpin to come out all the way (a bit stupid in my opinion).
