Practice tool, certainly for talkback microphone.
Like this tool and bought it for my talkback microphone so I can put in on the table or desk without the risk that the microphone start rolling. The grill doesn't get damaged.
Maybe the could produce also one with a bit smaller diameter to fit on smaller microphones too.

Use it when needed.
It works as described. I don't think it looks too bad on a EW-DX handheld.
