A good 2 track Looper, but not for me
howardjworf@aol.com 27.12.2025
Use live performance in a guitar duo with an Alesis SR18
Pros: looks extremely well made and robust. Has 2 separate loops and a decent drum machine built in. Responds to the MIDI time code from the Alesis flawlessly (but this isn't much use to me, see below). Will run on the supply from a standard pedal board PSU. Detects BPM from the loop recording (but does not apply the set BPM to an existing loop).
Cons: Changing the BPM only affects the drum machine, not any recorded loops. The recording/overdub/playback status is only indicated by the coloured LED ring surrounding the foot switches, and not on the very limited 3 character display, I find this very inconvenient when I am standing up playing. It is not possible to play both loops simultaneously. And the thing that annoys me most - double tap to stop playback. The only way to avoid this is to add a MIDI control pedal - extra hardware that should not be necessary IMO.
Conclusion: this is very well made pedal with good loop sound and a very good drum machine built in. For me the limitations in operation for a live performer are too great to accept. I will for now be sticking with my Flamma FS21 which is super easy to use live with one click stop, automatic saving of loops, and easy function and memory control with a small passive TRS add on pedal.
