Surprised how I use it
Pieter C 12.04.2024
After using the pedal for a while I realize I use it as an es pedal … . Strangely enough I did not yet get a fantastic tone out of it on it’s own (both on Fender and Marshall type amps). However I use it to get great tones out of my fuzz pedals and other overdrives. The key is of course the mid knob. The pedal is really great to fill up the missing parts on the tone spectrum or to lower certain frequencies. As a result I now have most of the time ‘stacked overdrives’ and far more tonal control. I wanted it to fill the gap of ‘mid boost’ overdrive in my collection and maybe it just made clear why I did not have a tube screamer. However it iscused almost all the time to get the tone I like to play with.

O
It’s nice but…I returned it.

It’s nice, and it might be REALLY nice, if what you’re looking for is a pretty feature rich overdrive. A simpel EQ can really change the sound of the overdrive and make it sound like many more pedals and not just a one trick pony.

I returned it however, because it doesn’t go clean enough if you ask me. I was looking for an always on overdrive with top mounted in/out-puts and power input, but this one never really goes clean when played quietly. I really like my SD1 for that, and was hoping this could he an SD1 and more, but for me it wasn’t.
