Little Black Acoustic Hits
Steve Long 15.04.2024
This little book gives you 137 songs ranging from the gentle country ballad 'Annie's Song' by John Denver through to things like 'Romeo and Juliet' by Dire Straights and Layla (Unplugged) by Eric Clapton. The text is clear, with chords shown clearly above the lyric. Each son had a series of chord diagrams at the beginning sowing the simplified versions of the chords used in that song. Song go from the 3-chord 'Not Fade Away' through to the 20-chord 'Try a Little Tenderness'. Where necessary advice on both tuning and Capo position is given.
There are songs for all ability levels in here from beginners through to seasoned troopers. At 20 Euros it isn't the cheapest collection, but it is well worth the money.
My only criticism is that the way the book is bound makes it difficult to open flat (I hate breaking a spine by forcing it open!) but since I transcribe songs into OnSong on my iPad I circumvent that minor problem.
If you want a wide range of music to play on an acoustic guitar, this is the book to go for.
