Digital AV evolution of a classic

The Yamaha MGX12V is a compact 12‑channel digital mixing console that builds on its distinguished legacy with a unique and updated feature set. Its analogue predecessor, the MG series, has long established itself as an industry standard. Now, the MGX series adds flexible digital functionality to Yamaha's tried-and-tested build quality – and the V models are additionally equipped with an HDMI audio/video interface that supports both video capture and pass‑through. This allows both audio and video signals to be recorded or streamed synchronously to any HDMI-compatible device – for hybrid productions, live streaming, online presentations, and content creation of all kinds. Yamaha's core concept here is still sound quality and effortless operation – everything to a professional standard. The MGX12V is based on a fully digital mixing engine that combines precise signal processing with a familiar workflow. Physical faders and controls allow quick, organic mixing, while the 4.3" touchscreen gives users clear access to channel processing, routing, and system configuration.

Low-distortion input and latency-free monitoring

The Yamaha MGX12V implements high‑quality microphone preamps on its four mic/line combo sockets, providing a gain range of up to 86dB with very low distortion. In addition, the MGX12V provides two stereo TRS line inputs, two stereo RCA line inputs, two XLR main outputs, six TRS‑OMNI outputs, and four headphone connections. Two USB ports (Main and Sub) allow flexible recording and playback setups. The main USB port enables up to 18 tracks to be recorded simultaneously; sub supports two tracks. The integrated DSP processor offers extensive sound‑shaping options, as well as providing latency‑free monitoring of the processed signal. Thanks to the device's fully integrated HDMI capability, cameras or other video sources can be connected directly without separate capture hardware, and processed at the same time as the audio signal.

Reliable and flexible

This digital mixer is aimed at professional and semi‑professional users across a wide range of fields, from mobile recordings and home production setups to live events and streaming platforms. And with its HDMI function, the MGX12V is particularly well suited to audio‑video workflows: for example, for bands who film or stream their sessions or performances live, for hybrid presentations, or for creative formats in which image and sound have to be combined in real time. The secondary USB port can be used to send a stereo signal for backup audio or streaming, or to integrate two‑channel devices for external playback – and wireless sources can also be added via the Bluetooth function and patched to any channel strip. For additional operational reliability, the MGX12V can record up to 16 tracks directly to a microSD card.

About Yamaha

For decades, Yamaha has been one of the world's best-known manufacturers of musical instruments and audio technology. The Japanese company's long history began at the end of the 19th century with the harmonium. The product range has constantly expanded since then, which has made Yamaha one of the few manufacturers today to offer almost the entire range of existing musical instruments: From upright and grand pianos to guitars, wind instruments, and bowed string instruments and from drums and percussion to electronic keyboards and synthesizers. Yamaha is also a major force in the field of audio engineering as a manufacturer of mixing consoles, amplifiers, PA systems, and more. Yamaha's guiding principle is to combine traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art technology.

Part of a high-powered family

The Yamaha MGX12V is part of a complete series of digital mixing consoles. In addition to the 12‑channel A/V version described here, the range includes a 16‑channel A/V model (MGX16V), as well as two similarly outfitted audio‑only variants (MGX12 and MGX16). All models are available in a black or white finish, with the robust Yamaha construction that users the world over have come to expect. All the devices in the MGX ecosystem feature a tactile physical control surface, support multitrack recording, and include a microSD card slot. Each unit also includes a comprehensive software bundle with a DAW, a post‑production suite, and a collection of virtual instruments (i.e., Cubase AI, WaveLab Cast and Steinberg Plus), a Basic FX Suite licence, and a Yamaha PA‑300C power supply unit.
