Yamaha 17C4

Yamaha make exceptionally good mouthpieces and the 17C4 is no different. The GP model produces a slightly darker sound than it's standard model counterpart.

It has a very centered feel to the sound but due to the #27 throat and fairly narrow backbore it may not be as free blowing as some players desire. Manufacture quality as you would expect is first class. Size is similar to Bach 1C.

Great mouthpiece

I have always played the last years on a Tilz-mouthpiece and was always always satisfied. But like that, I realized that I needed a change. My trumpet instructor recommended to me as well as two Schilke-mouthpieces also from Yamaha. I have to admit that I was rather skeptical at first, because Yamaha was hardly known to me as such a good mouthpiece maker.

During my experiments in the orchestra, I realized that for me the Yamaha put the two reeds in the shade. It convinced me through a full, dark tone and a light speech. For me (at present) the perfect mouthpiece!
