At first glance, the Yamaha TAS1 C Sand Burst looks like a traditional acoustic guitar. Its solid spruce top delivers a dynamic, powerful voice, while the mahogany back and sides provide a warm, focused foundation. But this concert-style acoustic guitar has more going for it than Yamaha's classic acoustic sound. It features the Japanese manufacturer's innovative TransAcoustic 2 system, which adds effects directly to the guitar's sound entirely without cables, amplifiers, pedals, or loudspeakers. This is made possible by actuators inside the body, which vibrate the guitar's own solid wood soundboard much like a speaker. This is no gimmick – the technology is so precise and convincing that the guitar can even be used to play backing tracks via Bluetooth. Thanks to its built-in piezo pickup, the TAS1 is equally at home on stage, too, although the TransAcoustic 2 system makes it an impressively versatile instrument even when played completely unplugged.

The Yamaha TAS1 C TransAcoustic Guitar combines an ingenious concept with genuinely sophisticated engineering. To reproduce its integrated effects without an amp or separate loudspeaker, the guitar uses two internal vibration drivers that transfer additional audio signals into the soundboard, allowing the guitar itself to function as the resonant source of the sound. Even without the TransAcoustic 2 system, the Yamaha TAS1 C Natural is a traditionally voiced concert-style acoustic guitar. The cutaway, modern neck profile, and 44mm nut width make a wide range of techniques feel comfortable, from traditional strumming to intricate fingerstyle arrangements. It's equally well suited to life on stage thanks to its well-balanced piezo pickup: The unique character of the TAS1 also remains intact when amplified, because the effects generated by the actuators are transmitted through the body and thus captured by the pickup as well. As a result, they can be reproduced through a PA system or amplifier just as naturally as they are acoustically.
