Zaphir Sunray - Summer Chimes

It sounds exactly as it does in the demo recording. It is decently loud and full-sounding for its size. It's made out of wood and feels very sturdy. The clapper is a piece of coin-shaped plastic. If you intend to use it as a wind chime, however, and you don't have a windy porch to hang it from, it is going to have a hard time ringing in all but the strongest winds. The wind coming through to my small apartment window could barely budge the rather heavy cardboard sail. It is perfect for use as an instrument, which, granted, is its intended use, but unfit for a wind chime. I easily remedied this issue by replacing the cardboard circle sail with a long, narrow cut-out from a regular sheet of A4 paper, like those you would see on Japanese furin chimes. With this modification it works beautifully. It is the best wind chime I have ever personally seen or heard. This method has the added bonus of allowing you to decide how much(or how little) the chime is affected by wind, to suit your preference. The only negative thing I can say about it is that it's making me want to collect the other models. Worth the money. It is a nice thing.

The Zaphir Sunray Summer chime is absolutely delightful. Its tuning (G♯ B C♯ E G♯ E A C♯) gives it a bright, warm and uplifting character — the perfect contrast to the cooler, introspective sound of the Blue Moon Winter chime. Together they create a beautiful seasonal balance, but the Sunray stands wonderfully on its own.

The sound is radiant and joyful, with harmonics that blend smoothly and create a gentle, shimmering resonance. It’s ideal for meditation, sound healing, yoga sessions, or simply bringing a touch of calm and positivity into a room. Even a light movement of air sets it singing with a soft, golden tone.

Craftsmanship is excellent: lightweight, elegant, and made with the same natural materials and care that define all Zaphir chimes. Visually and sonically, it feels like a small piece of summer sunlight.

I’m extremely happy with it — a beautiful addition to any sound‑healing or meditative environment.
