Super washy, less stick definition, too dark
After alot of study, reading articles and listening to reviews, I decided to buy the K-series Profi Promo Pack. The overall sound of the cymbals are satisfying, although way too dark for my taste. I kept thinking to return the package, but maybe I'll purchase a brighter cymbal to level the sound. I know it's all a matter of taste, but they seriously lack the stick definition (especially the ride). I'd like a mix between a washy and definite sound, because I tend to ride the crashes and crash the ride. If you feel the same, maybe consider buying the K-Sweet Series, although they do not come as a pack :(

Just a hype...
First of all, I am a beginner so I have a limited knowledge BUT I like to read a lot and test a lot and make sure what I get is what I want. I guess in case of Zildjian K I made a mistake. There were some 71 reviews on this cymbals in Thomann's page and almost 5 star, not to mention a whole lot of reviews in magazines with good recommendation. Well I bought them, tested them and certainly didn't like them and with MANY THANKS to the great service from Thomann I sent them back. I specially didn't like the HiHat and the bell on the ride. The ride is not for Jazz (my opinion), it's too bright. Anyway, I drove to Thomann and Clemens there helped me a lot and I selected Ride: Sabian Big and Ugly 24" Apollo, HiHat: Istanbul Mehmet Turk 15" and Crash: Zultan Raw 20". I haven't received them yet but am very much looking forward to getting them. When I was there I very much enjoy they cymbals. Anyway, these Zildjian K are NOT the same as good old Zildjian's which were made in Turkey. These are made in US and not with hand!

Too washy and wide in sound, lacking projection…
When I bought this set, I compared each cymbal from it with other cymbals I own from Meinl, Ufip, Bosphorus, and Paiste. I have to admit that Zildjian sounded the worst of them all — too washy and wide in sound, lacking definition and projection, which is what I didn’t like. Of course, it’s a matter of taste; for others this series might seem ideal. But personally, I consider this an overrated set, and for that kind of money you can buy better cymbals. That’s why I returned them.
