Raw visuals, fine sound

Zultan's Raw cymbal series is characterised by a raw, earthy look. The surfaces of the cymbals reveal the natural colour of the B20 bronze and deliberately do without a high-gloss polish. The Raw cymbals produce dark, dry sounds that blend perfectly with the music and prove a perfect choice wherever you want to have warm and unobtrusive cymbal sounds. The cymbals are made in Turkey, the country in which the art of cymbal making is most highly developed and where cymbal smiths who have learned their craft from scratch use traditional methods to create high-quality, good-sounding instruments.

Zultan 22" Raw Jazz Ride Cymbal

In tune with the music

Each Zultan Raw Series cymbal is made from 80% copper and 20% tin and is hand hammered. The cymbals are thus unique, but in the final tonal tuning, care is taken to ensure that the specified tolerances are met. Not lathing the cymbals results on the one hand in the special look, on the other hand in a controlled, slightly treble-reduced sound, which is characterised by a relatively short sustain. Thanks to these special sound characteristics, there is no risk that the cymbals of the Raw series will dominate the music too much. The Jazz Ride is slightly lighter than the regular 22" ride from the Raw series and offers a deep, musical, unobtrusive, and compact sound with reduced overtones.

Zultan 22" Raw Jazz Ride Cymbal

From Jazz to Electro and back again

Drummers from the genres of Pop, Fusion, Funk, and Jazz need fast responding, dynamic cymbals that blend homogeneously into different settings. The 22” Jazz Ride is perfect for this job. Depending on whether it is played with sticks, rods, or brushes, it unfolds a wide variety of sound facets, and just as you would expect from a good Jazz ride, the cymbal can also be used for crash accents. Fans of hybrid drumming, in which acoustic and electronic sounds are on an equal footing, often prefer cymbals with a short sustain - one of the characteristic features of the Raw series. The 22" Jazz Ride thus also fits seamlessly into this area.

About Zultan

To provide traditional craftsmanship at a fair price has been the guiding principle of Zultan ever since it was founded in 2000. The firm’s practice of selling directly to the end customer makes it possible to offer very customer-friendly prices. Nevertheless, the production process for Zultan’s trademark cymbals, which are made mainly in Turkey, is of the highest quality, a fact which has ensured they have also been a fixture in the Thomann range since 2011. The nearly 250 Zultan products cover several cymbal series, catering for all sectors of the music market. Zultan also offers accessories such as bags and drumsticks. Thanks to the use of high-quality materials and manufacturing expertise, Zultan really does offer uncompromising quality at a reasonable price.

Microphones love the Raw cymbals

The 22" Zultan Raw Jazz Ride can be used flexibly and, apart from very loud music styles, has virtually no musical limits. Thanks to its moderate volume and balanced frequency spectrum, the Raw Jazz Ride also proves its worth in the studio, where it benefits a balanced mix if the cymbals are heard as little as possible on the drum microphones. Even in acoustically difficult locations, for example in large halls or reverberant rehearsal rooms, the 22" Jazz Ride, like all of the other cymbals of the Raw series, delivers very good results.

A great cymbal
Montgomery De Lans III 27.05.2021
This is the first Zultan cymbal that I have bought. (I'm awaiting delivery of a 22 inch Q ride and anticipate it to be as satisfying as the Raw Jazz). The quality of the Raw Jazz is extremely good, given the price. This is not the loudest of cymbals, but then it's branded as a Raw Jazz Ride and so it's to be expected that the ping isn't so defined. I really love this cymbal. For the price charged, the sound is pleasing and complex and really does suit jazz playing. I have drumming friends who have bought this genre of cymbal from more expensive brands and the Zultan cymbal holds its own perfectly relative to these. I used this cymbal in studio recordings last year and it recorded beautifully.

Soft, dark, deep and mellow

I have had this cymbal for two years and I like the sound more and more. It's soft, dark, deep and mellow. The only little "negative" point is that the ping is not very bright but I think this is normal for a light cymbal like this one. The sound seems to improve more and more over time, like a pro :) I love it!

Very happy with this ride
DietVgwn 27.02.2021
So being hard-hitter i mostly enjoyed rock and metal cymbals. I decided to become a more versatile drummer and figured i might as well buy some jazz cymbals and a smaller kit. I had my eyes on some Istanbul gear, because that stuff sounds very good. Ofcourse i wanted to cut some cost, Istanbul doesn't come cheap. I did some research on youtube when i came across Zultan and watched some videos. I figured "why the hell not" and gave it a go.

I love it my dudes.

A nice reminder for myself that gear doesn't always have to be expensive. This is more than just a good ride, it's very good! Sounds dry, has a nice wash and a dark bell. Totally matches it's description... I am so pleased with this cymbal. If Zultan keeps the quality up and the prices lower than their competition they havn't had the last purchase from me.
