Great Desk
This is a very good & useful mixing desk. You've got to be the pre-amps are not of the best quality but at the price you've got to consider them when looking for new equipment. This desk Xenyx 2442 is extremely easy to use. The effects are very good & the built in compressor is a fantastic addition. It's a good desk for a home studio especially as it has the benefit of the USB for PC connection. MY only criticism is that the inputs are divided between the to of the desk above the faders (fine) then all the other inputs, outputs & send & returns are situated at the rear of the unit. This is not ideal for mounting the unit upright. Having said that I now own two of these desks & this one replaced a similar desk bought about 12 years ago. So overall it makes pretty good value for money.

Fantastic mixer for live band!
I wanted a mixer that could be used in both smaller (4 piece) and larger (7 piece) line-ups. This mixer really is fantastic value for money offering plenty of channels for instruments and microphone inputs.
The mixer itself is easy to use and navigate, as the various effects (monitor, reverb etc) all have a different colour. This makes it very easy to spot and adjust on the go.
The only thing I'm annoyed at is that it says that there are 3 monitor sends. Whilst this is technically true, only 2 of the sends can be adjusted on the mixer. A small yet important point to make.
I would recommend buying a case for any mixer, to help preserve the look and wear. Personally I bought one by 'Gator', which was the perfect size.
All in all, I would recommend this mixer to anyone looking for an affordable, great quality option. In future, I may invest in a larger model (mainly due to the monitor outputs) but I'm looking forward to many more gigs with this one.

Good so far, hasn't been gigged
we got this mixer for the start of our band, and we haven't gigged it yet (next weekend) but so far for practice anyway, it's done everything we've needed. can be slightly confusing at the start but starting to get used to it now. will update after gig.

Simple mixer for PA use
I wanted a simple low cost mixer for a PA I use and this Behringer unit fitted the bill perfectly. While the unit suggests 24 channels thats a little enthusiastic and I would suggest 20 or less. The effects work OK but are a little harder to master. However, the 4 groups are great and the master is cool. I also liked the USB. With the Thomann three year warranty and fast delivery to the UK for free this was a great bargain.

Great value for money mixer
Due to its recent price drop, X2442 USB Xenyx is an excellent value for money equipment for all those semi-professional bands (up to 4-5 members) that look into small gigs (in bars or music theatres).
X2442 offers a great set of mixing and routing alternatives for small scale gigs.
No significant problem noticed with Behringer pre-amps so far, regardless what is written in online forums.
