A niche product, but good
Fry57 18.02.2021
It's really cool to be able to plug the dongle, put the headphones on and play. It's fairly easy to dial in good sounds, and the options with the effects are fairly flexible.

The static mode works as advertised, but it feels weird and a bit unnatural. The panning is quite brutal, and the effect is much more pronounced than it would be when you turn your head around with an amp in the room. The stage setting is gimmicky at best, and I don't find it more immersive than the standard mode. the ambiant reverb settings can be very annoying as well, but thankfully it can tuned down. These are fun gimmicks, but not a major selling point. I would have bought a cheaper version without these features any day, and I think a lot of people would agree that this isn't the main selling point.

The main issue is the bug in the app for iOS. it doesn't respect the safe areas, so if you have an iPhone with a notch, the app is unusable. Once you enter the effect setting screen, you can go back to the main screen. It works on iPad and iphone 7 / SE though.

I also wish there'd be a way to toggle effects on & off from the headphones, but the only option is to change patches. It's workable this way, but since there are only 6 slots for patches on the headphones, it's more limiting. This would truly make the headphones perfectly usable without the app, but for now I still feel like I need a phone or tablet to use it. Which you'd probably have if you want to play backing tracks, but this forces you to juggle between the music app and the boss waza-air app. The split knobs for effects is inherited from the katana interface, but on a digital app it feels weird. it might stem from a limitation on the DSP, but it would have worked better to have separate knobs & toggles for booster / mod, delay / fx and reverb. It would also be nice to be able to toggle an effect off by clicking the color switcher instead of having to dial down the knob.

For those who complain the connexion isn't working well for bluetooth audio, it's pretty well explained both in the manual and on the web. There are 2 bluetooth devices in one:
WAZA AIR MIDI: this one is used to connect to the app and control the amp / effects settings on the headphones via midi
WAZA AIR AUDIO: this is used to pair the headphones as a bluetooth media receiver to stream audio from the device.

When you pair the MIDI one on the app, it doesn't automatically pair the AUDIO one on the device to use in your music app. For this - as the manual says - you need to hold the BT button on the headphones to enter pairing mode, then go to your device's bluetooth settings and pair the WAZA AIR AUDIO. Once this is done you can control the headphones with the app & stream music at the same time, which is one thing that doesn't always work well with this type of product (on the yamaha THR for instance, you can't sync settings on the app while streaming audio & vice versa)

A cool product, although it could deserve a little love in terms of UX, especially in the app which has this very critical bug that still hasn't been resolved since the last app update 3 months ago.

Edit: I updated my rating to 5 stars. The tones are amazing, it's really comfortable, and I even sold my yamaha THR 10IIW
this is simply awesome and highly recommended !

B
Best way to practise, and a top bluetooth earphone
Biogulasch 13.11.2021
This Earphone has two Conactions, midi for the guitar and Audio for your phone or laptop. That means you can hear a music track and play with it. There are some Tone packages in the APP, which are kinda useable. The building quality is very good, there is no uncomfortable feeling by ear.

What I really want to say, is this is a very wide range Earphone. Bluetooth earphones are highly limited by the board width of Bluetooth technic itself, but this one can really catch a wide range of the frequence. Both high end and low end sound very full. It is really comparable to a real AMP.

Since this is a relative new Product, there is some issues to be improved. There is no "Sleep Mode", I fogot sometimes to shut it down after using. Then it just went out of battery. I understand if it sleeps while playing it could be worse, but I hope there would be a way to solve this.

The adopter and the earphone must be separatedly charged.
If you plug the adopter into a Pedal, e.g. an out-end of a looper, or using some other pedals, it stops working like about every 20min. I dont really understand why.

In general, this worth it a lot. It is just the best way to dive in your own guitar world without disturbing. And I works perfectly alone as a Bluetooth earphone

Pricey yet Awesome Gear for Home Practice
whenkubrickmeetshendrix 18.02.2024
I had a nice and easy experience with Boss Katana 50 Mk ii so soundwise had a smooth transition with these bad boys. I needed to sell my 50 mk ii and shortly after that, I moved into an old and small apartment so that's the time I decided to pull the trigger and buy the Waza air.

A great investment for sure. Busting your axe without hurting your loved ones' ears is a huge plus.

One minor downer, which I couldn't find as a reason to lower any star for that, is the battery life. Not a deal breaker, I barely recall any time that I left without any juice to power up the headphones when I'm in the zone and riffing/exercising. Still, something to be mindful of. You better put it on the plug every time you finish playing though.

I'd blindfoldly recommend the Waza Air to anyone living in close quarters or needing to practice without noise complaints. They're particularly ideal for late night musicians or those who share their living space with others.

Beautiful

Amazing quality, superb sound and no cables makes it fantastic. The phone app could and should be better and the battery life is kinda annoying...it needs daily charging...Anyway, Waza Air is the best practice experience for guitar if you have a busy, noisy household... just an awesome product from
Boss. Highly recommended!

Really useful!
Patricus 01.11.2022
I often peruse the internet in search of new gadget to help me progress on my journey learning guitar, however nothing I have seen before has compared with the comfort and ease of use the Boss Waza Air provide.

With a charge time of 1 hour for every 5 hours of play time and so many different effects to choose from these headphone amps are truly a gratifying experience.

There are always new features to discover with the Boss Waza Air, my personal favourite being the gyro effect which can be used with bluetooth so you can stream any music you want from your phone;
When you turn your head.. the properties of the music change so it sounds like you are truly playing with the creators of your favourite music!

All in all I would recommend the Boss Waza Air Headphones to anyone interested in progressing their guitar skills, beginner, intermediate, advanced, master, it doesnt matter. These headphones are enjoyable for all and I cant wait for you to explore them too.

Very good hp's for ppl who don't want to be troublesome for others e.g. neighbours. Pretty comfortable, good sound quality, good sound isolation. The things I am missing are a propper case for the hp's and also the app could be improved in the future. Looks great on telephone however on tablets could be a bit better. Personally I use them a lot for in flat practice mostly in surround mode at any time of day and night. The battery life is good. Also very useful tool for going to a music shop with your own sound to try out new guitars. Highly recomended.

Love em!
Rodders 02.01.2021
At last nobody can hear all the mistakes I make when practicing. This alone gives me the freedom to enjoy playing my telecaster, casino and SG bass.

The app on the iPhone is ok and takes a while to understand but once you have your sounds dialled in then the app is not really needed.

With Bluetooth I can also play along to other tracks from my laptop from iTunes or Logic.

Overall it is a great tool for practice which has put more fun into my playing. I also get to experiment more with trying different theoretical approaches as I feel less inhibited when making mistakes.

Hopefully, these headphone will last a good number of years.

Boss headphones
RichH 18.12.2020
Use: practising guitar - anywhere / any time!

Pros: just work really well!

Cons: some minor issues, but nothing major. You really need a case for these, after a while they become uncomfortable and of course they are quite expensive! Of more concern is the fact that at some point the rechargeable batteries will become useless, at which point I think these are fit for the trash?

Overall: these may not seem the most exciting thing ever, but I use these - all the time. So I get to play when I want, without irritating my wife or kids! What's not to like!

T
Expensive, but you get what you pay for
TmaJo 03.02.2021
I purchased these after moving house into a environment where I could not reasonably use an amplifier to practice.
Most of the time, when plugging headphones into an amplifier, something feels...off.
Not with these, this sounds just like my Boss Katana playing in my room, with the added bonus of not waking up the night shift workers in my house!
The fit is tight, but when you can't help but bang your head, that ensures they do not slide off.
Waza-Air is a little bit of a pain to use, but you get used to it fairly quickly.
The ambient/amp position option is also incredibly cool and will bring a lot of entertainment. All Boss needs to do now is release a VR headset to put the arena crowd in front of me!

All in all, a fantastic product, the high price tag does indeed bring high quality, you will not be disappointed.
