Da die EXL170er schon lange meine Standardsaiten auf meinen Vier- und Fünfsaitern sind, war es naheliegend die auch auf meinen Achtsaiter mit Chorsaiten aufzuziehen.
Soundmäßig war das also keine Überraschung, Grund- und Obertöne in einem guten Verhältnis. Die funktionieren für mich eigentlich auf jedem Bass, von Stingray bis Rick. Das gewichtet sich bei einem Achtseiter natürlich etwas anders, dazu hat man den aber auch.

Bei einem Achtsaiter ist die farbliche Markierung der Ballends sehr praktisch. Bei den Hagström Saiten gibt es das nicht und alle saiten lagen in einem Paket. "Ist das jetzt die G-Saite oder die E-Octavseite"?

Einziges Manko: Bei meinem Hagström HB-8 sind die Saitenhülsen auf der Korpusrückseite bei den Chorsaiten kleiner. Die Ballends der Daddarios passen da nicht ganz rein und schauen halb heraus. Für mich kein Problem, wer aber so einen Bass hat und sich daran stört muss andere Saiten nehmen.
