Dunlop Joe Bonamassa CryBaby JB95

Electric Guitar Effect Pedal

When you're as prominent as blues virtuoso Joe Bonamassa, it is only natural that, sooner or later, signature equipment starts being made in your name.

And so, named after the Joe Bonamassa Fuzz face, there is also a Cry Baby dedicated to the maestro. Highest quality components - true bypass or buffered input for lossless signal path and a very "throaty" voicing tuned to the maestro's sound make the JB95 Joe's favorite Wah (and presumably not only his).

  • Vintage-style Halo Inductor
  • Internal switch for true hardwire bypass or buffered
  • Lightweight aluminium housing
  • Power supply unit available separately under article nr 409939 (Thomann NT AC / PSA), not included

A solid, useful wah

This must be one of the most unique looking wah pedals available. In terms of sound, it does what you'd expect, but nothing too far outside of the ordinary.

I bought this particular wah as I'd heard it was well-voiced for humbuckers, and I wanted to use it with a Les Paul. Other wahs tend to sound better with single coil pickups, so I was curious to hear the difference. I think it does have a slight edge with humbuckers, but the difference is subtle and likely pretty subjective.

There's a price premium to getting this pedal over many CryBabys, but not a huge one (and there are more expensive ones.) Considering its suitability and great appearance, I'd say it was worth it, and can recommend this pedal.

Joe Bonamassa Cry Baby

My first Wah - the Dunlop Joe Bonamassa Cry Baby.

The Wah comes in a black packaging, with a printed Joe Bonamassa logo.
Included: The Wah itself - without battery, so you need a 9V battery, or a power supply - , a product brochure, with all off the MXR, Way Huge and Jim Dunlop products, a Joe Bonamassa branded user Manual and a waranty Card.

The Sound is, compared to other Wah, i've tested, very raw and rough. It really screams , it sounds very similar to Joes original Jorge Tripps Wah.

Inside off the housing is a dip Switch, so you can Switch between True Bypass and a Buffer. Sadly, i don't know which position is the Bypass and which the Buffer, so i've choosen the best sounding position.

quite simply this is the most musical vocal sounding wah i have ever tried. It's smooth with a little growl and adds a real pro sound to your tone without loosing the qualities of your amp or guitar , well worth the money

Very solid wah with a good sound

Got this wah to replace my original gcb-95 dunlop wah. I was very impressed with the build quality and the pedal looks fantastic.

The bypass filter switch is a nice touch.
