I usually think DW are overpriced drums but I was in the market for a shallow brass snare and I came across this. It sounded great on online videos so I took a chance as the price to sound ratio piqued my interest. Tuned up it sounds great. A little dryer than expected but a lovely brass drum. The magnetic throw is great too. My only gripe with it was that the tuning lugs felt a bit stiff when tuning the resonant head high. These are Chinese made so at that price they had to skimp on quality somewhere. So to sum up, great sound for the price, the lugs don't feel high quality so that's why I deducted a star

Der Sound der Snaredrum ist sehr gut und ist der DW Collerctor's Black Nickel over Brass sehr ähnlich. Auch die Verarbeitung ist relativ gut. Nur waren für meinen Geschmack die Stimmschrauben sehr schwergängig, sobald man sie stärker anzieht (und ich mag meinen Snare-Sound hoch). Das ist auch der Grund, warum ich sie zurückgeschickt habe.

Bin Wiedereinsteiger und wollte endlich mal eine gute Snare Drum besitzen, aber nicht die Welt ausgeben. Die Verarbeitung dieser DW-Snare ist ganz großes Kino. Ich habe sie zwischen mittel und hoch gestimmt, dabei das Reso nicht zu fest angezogen. Man kann sie so gestimmt leise und eher dezent spielen, der Teppich reagiert dabei grundsätzlich gut kontrollierbar. Wenn man kräftiger spielt wird sie sehr durchsetzungsstark und mit Rim Shot gibt's voll auf die 12. Ich hatte vorher eine 14x6,5 Snare aus Holz und musste mich erst an diesen knalligen Messing-Sound gewöhnen - nach zwei Wochen möchte ich die Snare nicht mehr hergeben. Nicht ganz billig, aber auch lange nicht so teuer wie manch andere Klassiker-Messing-Snare - ein guter Kompromiss, würde ich sagen. Zu diesem Preis ein echter Tipp!

Ich hatte mir schon das Design Set gekauft und war mit der Holzsnare nun nicht mehr zufrieden, wegen des trockenen Sounds. Die Messingsnare kam mir da gerade recht! Ich habe gleich Gussreifen aufgezogen; dafür mussten die Gummis unter den Böckchen entfernt werden, damit die Schrauben gerade sitzen. Der Sound ist super und für mich genau richtig: knallig und gleichzeitig nicht so spitz; eben wie man Messing auch erwartet. Mein Design Drumset macht jetzt noch mehr Spaß und ist für mich deutlich aufgewertet. Irgendwie auch ne clevere Verkaufsstrategie von DW...
