I use custom light on my acoustic because it is easier to craft music without extra tension from 12s or 13s. Elixir deliver clarity and resonance on 11s that make you believe you play with 12s.

I love these strings!
18.02.2017
I use these strings on a very nice limited edition Taylor 410 with walnut back and sides. In fact, I would use these strings on any acoustic guitar. I just love them. Whatever about them being long lasting, they are quite simply my favourite sounding acoustic guitar strings.

As a lover and admirer of Thomastik strings for instance, I decided to take a break from the Elixir's and try Thomastik's acoustic guitar strings. What a mistake! A couple of days and I was back to my Elixir Custom Lights. They sound fabulous. They feel fabulous. They last for a long time. Sometimes the third breaks up on me but that's usually after they've been on for quite a while.

I love the balance of tension with these custom lights. They feel just right under my fingers, not to heavy, not too light, and I can play. They record beautifully too.

As somebody who used to have to change strings every couple of days when touring, I find these Nanowebs a God-send. Also, for anyone who is not in the know, nano webs are so much better than the original polyweb variety, which tend to peel away with use very early on, so if undecided, go for these nanoweb strings, you won't be disappointed. The difference is that on the nanoweb strings, the coating is applied before the strings are wound, so that they actually feel like a regular string, whereas with the polyweb variety, the coating is applied to the already wound string.

I can't recommend these strings highly enough, they keep their tone and have the same life as newish strings many months later. They will save people a small fortune!

The best
Thomas5142, 28.09.2017
I've been playing a Simon and Patrick mini auditorium for 3 years now; during this period I have tried out 4 different string sets: Dean Markley Alchemy Gold Bronze 12-54,, Martin phosphor bronze custom light 12-54, D'Addario EXP16 Phosphor Bronze Light 12-53 and Elixir Nanoweb in both 11-52 and 12-54 variations. My experience so far is pointing on the Elixir, which is providing the best sound compared to all other choices above. The only concern lies with the price, as it is the most expensive of all;
I will give a try to the Dunlop DAP1152 Phosphor in the future, but I'm somehow feeling that I have already met the best choice for the particular guitar (and my particular ears of course!).

however. These last for ages

Without strings, guitars and basses produce no sound, yet most players know very little about them.
