My choice from now on.

I never got the whole thing with Elixir strings before, so I decided to give them a go.
Even though the price tag may seem a lil high at first glance, it's well worth every cent.
Usually, guitar strings would lose their shine from the first few days of playing, and the tone followed closely after. With these strings, I can go for months without losing playability OR tone ! I was pleasantly surprised to see that they didn't lack in any aspect after one month of intense playing! I'm never going back to other strings again (maybe just to try a few, but that's it). Elixir's the way to go.
And even though they're not too heavy (I've had 12-60 once), they do keep their tightness in very low tunings (I like to keep my guitar in C standard and sometimes go to drop A#, and they still don't get flabby).
I'd say that everyone should try Elixir strings at least once in their lifetime, they've been a real gamechanger for me and I'd recommend them to anyone!

This gauge is dedicated to my jazz semi hollow body guitar. It really love all sound details which this set provides. It’s well balanced and clear.

Brilliant strings for down tuned rock.
Anonymous 25.08.2016
I have been using light gauge (10-46) Elixir strings on my Strat and Les Paul and 12 gauge bronze for acoustics for quite a while now and love them, I wouldn't use anything else. Having acquired a rock style guitar (Godin Freeway) that I really didn't really have much use for I decided to experiment by putting heavy strings on and tuning down to D. What a sound!!! It sounds amazing! I'm not really a big metal fan (and it's not really an out and out metal guitar) but I can hear (and feel) that these strings would be absolutely amazing for anyone who would want to play low tuned metal or rock without buying a 7 string or baritone guitar. I use it for heavy blues based stuff ( think Gibbons,Bonamassa, Haynes). They make a pretty ordinary sounding guitar sound massive. Like all Elixir strings they seem to last forever. Highly recommended.

A
Durable, well sounding strings
Anonymous 26.05.2014
I've been testing different strings from various brands for years. A few years ago I started using Elixir strings due to a few different reasons.

All the other strings I tried, including the well known brands, did not make the grade for me. The reasons are quite simple: I do not like the sound of most fresh non-coated strings, they are a little bit to harsh sounding for me. After a short time of usage these non-coated strings usually reach the sweet spot, where they sound the best to me. From this point it doesn't take long until they sound too muffled.

In contrast to these non-coated strings the Elixir strings tend to keep the sweet-spot sound for almost their entire life span, even out of the box.

Besides the coating makes them really durable, depending on the usage of the guitar they can last up to a few months. This is also the reason why they are worth the higher price in comparison to non-coated strings.

One last thing: of course I compared these strings to other coated strings. I like the Elixir strings better but that might be my personal taste.
